Wausau gains and shares knowledge through our representation on the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) High Performance Building Façades Public Advisory Committee. This industry-shaping research is co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and the California Energy Commission to investigate analysis tools and commercialization strategies for innovative shading devices and controls.
For nearly three decades, Wausau has supported LBNL projects including extract-air windows and electrochromic glazing, providing prototypes and technical know-how to LBNL researchers.
Wausau’s staff also serves in a co-chair position on the American Architectural Manufacturers Association’s (AAMA’s) Green and Sustainability Task Group.
The group’s activities include industry outreach, education, public comment on green building ratings and standards, and other aspects influencing green fenestration.
